The General Assembly will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 1st to 3rd November 2007. The conference title is “European Studies on Religion and State in the 21st century”. The General Assembly is one of the main activities during the first year of this project.
 
The General Assembly will focus on the contemporary European Studies on Religion and State from a comparative and interdisciplinary point of view, the different academic, scientific and cultural approaches and the way local research initiatives deal with the study of the relation between Religion and State. The aim of this approach is to understand the diverse national institutional practices, the existing teaching methods and materials and place them at the disposal of the members of the Network.
 
The conference will comprise a) keynote speeches, b) workshop sessions with paper presentations and discussions c) plenary sessions and debates within the following themes:
1. Teaching Religion and State in Europe. Juridical Approach.
2. Teaching Religion and State in Europe. Theological Approach.
3. Teaching Religion and State in Europe. Sociological Approach.
4. Teaching Religion and State in Europe. Pedagogical Approach.
